CAE Executive Director Elected American Astronomical Society's Education Officer!

February, 2013
Gina Brissenden (Steward, Observatory, Univ. of Arizona)

It is with great pleasure that I get to share with the greater CAE community that our very own CAE Executive Director, Ed Prather (also Associate Professor in the Astronomy Dept. in Steward Observatory at the Univ. of Arizona), was recently elected as the American Astronomical Society's (AAS's) Education Office!! He officially took office at the close of the AAS Business Meeting at the Summer AAS meeting this past June in Anchorage Alaska. During this meeting, Ed also gave an invited plenary talk. For those of you who have attended one of our workshops with Ed presenting, and for those of you who have heard him speak elsewhere, you already know you'll by entertained and educated by his talk. If you haven't seen Ed in action before, well, there's always a first time for everything. Enjoy!

Mix One-Part Astronomy Education Research with One-Part General Education Astronomy Course and You Get a Very Potent Science Literacy Transformation Cocktail
