Workshop leaders Ed Prather, Gina Brissenden, and Tim Slater are in the Astronomy Department at the University of Arizona's Steward Observatory. Their scholarship focuses on the teaching and learning of astronomy. They have published numerous articles and books on active learning in astronomy and have coordinated curriculum development and professional development projects for several professional societies, NASA, and the National Science Foundation.
